Warlocks Need Help - YouTuber Takes to the Airwaves

World of Warcraft: Legion is considered by many as one of the best expansions in the game's history. It is not, however, without criticism from several corners, most particularly from players who believe that Blizzard is ignoring class and spec feedback. Warlock YouTuber Pyromancer has taken to the airwaves in what she says is the "Final Stand of Warlocks" to attempt to compile feedback in the hopes that Blizzard developers will lend an ear to make changes.

From the World of Warcraft community forums (NA):

Many players feel as though we have been stripped of class fantasy, utility, or even pure damage output. I am extending to you the opportunity to assist me in formally compiling a massive amount of feedback to present to Blizzard in a formal manner. It has become apparent over the past months that a substantial amount of our feedback has been either ignored completely, or acted upon in a very lack luster manner. Essentially, this initiative was created in order to gain the attention of the Devs while also taking into consideration the wholistic view of the Warlock community.

In addition to Pyromancer's video, a Warlock-specific survey has been posted that players can fill out to help provide feedback. You can check it out here.

Thanks for the tip, Coolit!

Separate from this video and survey, Ion Hazzikostas took to the Warlock forum yesterday to speak to players about their concerns:

We agree with a number of the core concerns raised, but don't have immediate solutions (or those solutions will take more time to design, implement, and test than the 7.1.5 PTR cycle affords). A couple of examples off the top of my head:

  • Steady/predictable Ember generation suited the Destruction rotation well, and something important was lost in the course of unifying the class to use a single shared resource, but fixing that at this point isn't just as simple as rolling everything back to Embers.
  • Mechanics like Demonic Empowerment and Soul Effigy are cumbersome to manage and while they have strong spec-specific theming, the actual gameplay of using them drags down their respective specs.

We're probably too reluctant to acknowledge problems for which we don't yet have a solution to present. But the fact that we haven't yet changed something doesn't mean that we think it's perfect as-is.
